GREETINGS FROM THE NASH COUNTY HISTORICAL ASSOCIATION & STONEWALL MANOR!
Its time for Historic Stonewall Manor's Annual Fall Living History/Reenactment event. We will be open from 11-4 both Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 20th & 21st. We will be joined by Edenton Bell, Reilly's Battery, Lathams 13th Battery, CSA Naval Squadron, Olde South Blacksmith, Sweet Pea Sutler - Aversborough, Son's of Confederate Veterans, the Tarheel Civilians and music by the Tar River Dulcimers! There will be activities throughout both days including cannon fire,
skirmishes, living history/hands on activites, blacksmith demonstrations, period
cooking and a sutler that will have items that can be purchased by the public
reflective of the period. There will also be concessions throughout both days.
Admissions are $5.00 for adults; $3.00 for seniors; $2.00 for children (6 and
under free). The Manor itself will be open as well for the public to tour and
docents will be on site to answer any questions. We
welcome everyone in our community and surrounding areas to come take part in a
fun, educational tradition and visit one of the states most beautiful Historic
Antebellum mansions. You can also find us on

Stonewall Manor. We are located near the Falls
of the Tar River
in Rocky Mount, North Carolina. Built circa 1830 by Bennett Bunn,
a well established and prosperous planter in Nash County, Stonewall
provides unique insight into the Antebellum Plantation Lifestyle of the
South. Stonewall's scale and sophistication of design make it
one
of the truly elegant plantation houses in North Carolina.
We are open to the public for tours during regularly scheduled hours as well as by appointment. We also offier individuals or groups a beautiful location for teas, receptions, and other civic and social events. The historic property is being preserved and the Nash County Historical Association, caretaker of the Manor, encourages you to use it and participate in its restoration. Manor is currently looking for individuals interested in becoming a
part of our Historic Gardening Committee. This is a great
opportunity to get involved with the ressurection of Stonewall's
beautiful gardens, and to create something for future generations to

Reach Out Rocky Mount Fun-Run for Charities SUCCESS!!!
The
Nash County Historical Association and Stonewall Manor would like to
thank EVERYONE for their help and support for this years Reach Out
Rocky Mount FunRun for Charities event! Once again we had a
phenomenal outpouring of support from friends of Stonewall and people
from all around the community and we very much look forward to seeing
what our final results are! Thank you again for all of your
support and we hope that you'll continue to follow us and our
successes, and continue with your support of one of Rocky Mount's most
recognizable landmarks and a one of the states finest examples of
Federal architecture. The city of Rocky Mount is so lucky to have
such a fantastic example of history right here in our backyard and we
look forward to continuing to preserve it for future generations!!!
